Tuesday 24 January - Secured by Design

This lunchtime presentation will deal with the implications of Part Q within Building Regulations and how the Police-owned Secured by Design initiative has responded with a new award structure and a National Building Approval scheme. The requirements of these changes exceed the requirements of Part Q so should assist all those involved within the construction process in discharging the Building Regulations requirements.

Tuesday 28 February - Condensation risk and insulation systems for difficult to insulate buildings, TLX Insulation Ltd

The seminar will cover condensation risk and insulation systems for difficult to insulate buildings. TLX Insulation will provide details of their range of materials, saving space, installing insulation from the outside without a vapour membrane as well as upgrading insulation without raising the roof height. There will be case studies relating to domestic dwellings, social housing and historic buildings.

Tuesday 11 July - Single Ply Roofing - Design and Application, Sarnafil

This seminar will include information regarding Sarnafil, environmental considerations and standards, design constraints, types of single-ply membranes, system types, roof refurbishment, system components and specifying single-ply membranes.

Tuesday 12 December - Modern Methods of Masonry Repair, Helifix

The seminar presented by Belal Sabih from Helifix will cover common causes of masonry defects and how such structural faults can be repaired and strengthened, specifically by using innovative Helifix techniques. The benefits of concealed non-disruptive repair methods with regard to cost-effectiveness, aesthetic impact, project timescales and design implications will also be addressed.
