CITB’s Skills & Training fund – Round 4, opened on 18 October and closes on 14 November.

Its designed to reach organisations which are 1. CITB levy registered (up to date) and 2. of less than 50 direct employees It provides FREE Funding:  Up to a value of £5,000 (incl VAT) which equates to up to 5 days of training for the purpose of supporting investment in business & skills training not ordinarily available through the training grant fund.

All training must be undertaken in-house and must involve multiple staff members (could include sub contractors/designers) anything from 6-18 people per training session. Types of training available include:

1. Reducing Carbon in Construction – 1 day – This will include 1 year subscription to - A web-based Carbon Measurement Toolkit

2. Understanding Corporate Social Responsibility in Construction – 1 day

3. Understanding and Implementing Social Value Act 2013 – 1 day

4. Social Media in Construction – 1 day

5. Collaborative Working and Supply Chain Management – 5 day

6. Collaborative Contracts – Awareness – NEC/JCT CE & PPC2000(16) – 1 day

7. Lean Construction Awareness – 1 day

8. BIM for Beginners – 1 day

9. A Day in the life of a Contracts Manager – 1 day

10. Advance Site Management - 5 one day training courses programme

11. Managing Project Risks– 1 day

12. Site Environmental Sustainability workshop – 1 day

13. Improved Project Quality Management workshop – 1 day

14. Soft Landings workshop – 1 day

15. Bid to Win Masterclass (how do you win more work) – 1 or 2 days

16. Performance Management & Continuous Improvement – 1 day

17. Collaborative Planning Techniques – Last Planner - 5 days on project training - – This will include 1 year subscription to – A web-based toolkit

18. Value Management & Value Engineering– 1 day

This is not an exhaustive list of programmes. All programmes can be combined or amended to suit specific training requirements. OR let us know what you want to be trained on and we can develop a programme for you. Working in collaboration with the National Federation of Builders (you don’t have to be a member) the application process will work as follows:

1. Contractors express an interest to Vassos Chrysostomou (NFB Training Provider) (IBE Partnership)

2. The member will be contacted by the NFB training team by phone to discuss and diagnose training needs

3. Vassos will write the application on your behalf

4. The contractor shall submit the application to CITB

5. On award, the contractor shall engage with the NFB training team to deliver the training.

In order for us to process the applications the closing date for expressions of interest to Vassos Chrysostomou is: 8th November.
