Build Surrey was developed in order to facilitate access to public and private sector construction and built environment work opportunities for local supply and demand organisations, via the online network as well as through Build Surrey networking events.

Build Surrey Aims

  • To be the focal point for supply and demand for the construction and built environment sector in Surrey.
  • To make work opportunities transparent and easily available to local organisations.
  • To act as the link to business support organisations that can help prepare for supply chain pre-qualification.
  • To provide buyers with an online catalogue of potential supply chain partners. This process is not an accreditation, as each buyer/procurer will apply its own accreditation criteria, nor is it any guarantee given of work: Build Surrey is a vehicle for communication, information and referral.

Build Surrey Objectives

  • To strengthen the local economy by increasing the capability, capacity and resilience of the Surrey construction and build environment sector.
  • To enable buyers and suppliers to advertise opportunities to local contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • To enable prospective contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers to easily register and bid for opportunities.
  • Provide a public web-based business community network in Surrey, bringing together both new and existing networking opportunities.
  • Encourage the county’s construction and built environment providers to develop local skills through apprenticeships, traineeships etc.
  • Provide guidance material for the procurement process and links to other relevant systems and services.
  • Provide a route to market for all relevant business related services to create a central business communication hub for the construction and built environment market.
  • Champion sustainable development and the efficient use of resources in Surrey in the sector.
